New Air Fryer?
I’ve never been a big fan of new stuff. Weird huh? It takes me forever to try something new, including new appliances. Trust me, if you knew me, you’d know that I HATE getting a new phone every 2 years. So much changes and I hate learning new things. Sounds silly huh? It’s true, I don’t like change and new stuff often means new changes, which drives me crazy!
WISH PLANNING A PARTY WAS A PIECE OF CAKE?
When my husband mentioned that he wanted to buy me an Air Fryer, I was not excited. Not one bit. I kept thinking, oh great, one more thing I need to make space for, and learn how to use.
Boy was I wrong!
You should’ve seen how long it took me to get an Instant Pot! Now, I’m obsessed with my Instant Pot and am so glad that I finally caved in and let my husband get me one for Christmas.
Which reminds me, I love my Instant Pot so much, that I’ve put together my favorite 5 Instant Pot Recipes That I Love if you want to check them out. These are my 5 favorite Instant Pot recipes that I’m officially hooked on!
While I love my Instant Pot, I also am loving my new Air Fryer and can’t wait to share how my Air Fryer saves me money, so it can hopefully help you save money too!
My Air Fryer
Let me start by sharing which Air Fryer I have. I have the Instant Vortex Air Fryer and I’m loving it! I’ve not tried any other ones, so I can’t compare, but my experience so far has been extremely positive. If you already have an Instant Pot, you know their quality is top notch, and I can say in all honesty that my Instant Air Fryer is top notch as well.
This is the Instant Vortex Air Fryer that I have.
Should I Buy An Air Fryer?
If you are trying to decide if you should get an Air Fryer, take into consideration a few things. First of all, how many people are in your family? We have 5 – so we have the 6 quart Air Fryer meant to serve 4 people. It works for us. But, if you have a larger family, you might want to consider a bigger one.
The thing with an Air Fryer is that is works best when you can cook stuff on a single layer. For a bigger family, you will need to do multiple batches to cook enough for your whole family if you have a smaller Air Fryer.
Read the Amazon Reviews and see what other people are saying about them before you buy one. Now, I know I love to be as frugal as possible, but sometimes, buying the cheapest Air Fryer is not the best choice.
The Instant Vortex Air Fryer was not the cheapest, but was not the most expensive either, and because I already had an Instant Pot, I was pretty secure in my choice of brand. So far, I’m happy with both my Instant Pot and my Instant Vortex Air Fryer.
5 Ways My Air Fryer Saves Me Money
These are the 5 ways my Air Fryer saves me money each week.
- Make It Homemade
- Fast Lunches
- No Oven
- No Need For Takeout
- Use Up Leftovers
Let me further explain how my Air Fryer saves me money.
1. Make It Homemade
Making stuff homemade it’s almost always cheaper than buying it pre-made. I realize that time can be hard to come by, especially as a stay at home mom, but if you can manage to make some stuff homemade then you will save your family money. An Air Fryer can aid in helping you make homemade food quickly.
A perfect example of this is french fries. Who doesn’t love french fries? First of all, let’s chat real fast about how unhealthy they can be when they are deep fried in oil. But, when made in an air fryer, you barely need any oil, and in my book that is a win! My family like to season our fries with Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, and it’s delicious!
It’s cheaper to buy a 1lb bag of potatoes, peel and cut them yourself, than it is to buy a pre-made bag of frozen fries. The air fryer does an excellent job of crisping up the fries without all the excess oil and they taste delicious! You will save your family money if you make them homemade, but you can use a bag of frozen fries in your Air Fryer as well.
Here are few other of my favorite homemade Air Fryer recipes. I’ve tried all of these and highly recommend them.

2. Fast Lunches
Another way my Air Fryer saves me money is by saving my sanity. I mean how many times have you made a dumb money decision when you are stressed about life? How many times have you been stressed out at lunch time trying to figure out what to make?
When all your kids are yelling, screaming and crying for totally different food – and then you find yourself ordering take out instead?
Yep. Me too.
Or how about the times when you have been running errands all morning, carting your kids from one store to the next and dreaming about Chick-fil-A drive thru because the last thing you want to do is go home and take the time to make Mac N Cheese?
It does take at least 10 minutes for that water to boil (I live in Colorado – water takes forever to boil). 10 minutes is too long to make lunch, am I right? Especially when your kids are “hangry!”
I know. Been there. A million times.
Instead of Chick-fil-a nuggets, save the money, buy a bag of generic cheap frozen ones and cook them in your Air Fryer. In less than 10 minutes, you will have yummy, crispy nuggets that your kids will love! Don’t feel like chicken nuggets, try these super quick grilled cheese sandwiches.
You can cook them in the Air Fryer in less than 5 minutes and they are crispy, so much faster than trying to make them on the stove! While they are cooking in the Air Fryer, you can get everything else for lunch prepared and help your kids wash their hands.
3. No Oven
Another reason my Air Fryer saves me money is by not needing to use my oven. This works out really great during the summer when I don’t want to turn on my oven and heat up my house any more than it already is.
Besides not needing to use the oven, my air fryer is fast! It heats up in just a few minutes and cooks food fast. So much faster than my oven, because it’s a lot smaller of course!
The only thing I haven’t been able to cook in my Air Fryer that I wish I could, is a regular size frozen pizza – which is just too big to fit in my Air Fryer. Instead, we got the next best thing – mini frozen pizzas and they cook in less than 10 mins in my Air Fryer! Or you can try these – Air Fryer Naan Margherita Pizzas – yummy!
4. Quick Chicken Nuggets
Chicken nuggets are a staple in my house, and another reason why my Air Fryer saves me money! My kids love nuggets for lunch, and I love nuggets myself over a fresh salad, for a quick weekday lunch.
Air Fryer to the rescue! Nuggets taste a lot better when cooked in the air fryer, than they do warmed up in the microwave – the air fryer makes them much crispier.
They also cook fast in the Air Fryer. You can make crispy chicken nuggets from frozen in the Air Fryer in about 10 minutes and they taste delicious! Plus, you can buy a big 3lb bag of them from Safeway for $5 and make many meals out of it. Much cheaper than buying them from a drive thru.
How many times have you been tempted to run through the McDonald’s drive thru for their yummy nuggets for your kids? Me! So many times! And while I’m there, I might as well grab me a salad and an iced tea! Before I know it I’ve just spent $15 on lunch, when I already had iced tea in my refrigerator and chicken nuggets in my freezer.
Save the money and make cheaper, crispy, and fresh chicken nuggets in your Air Fryer instead! Try these – Air Fried Frozen Chicken Nuggets
5. Use Up Leftovers
My favorite way that my Aif Fryer saves me money is by using up my leftovers! I know how you feel, it’s 5pm, you forgot to thaw meat from your freezer, and frankly you just don’t feel like cooking.

You could take out the Instant Pot and make something yummy – from frozen, in a snap, but instead, you realized you still have a bunch of leftover pulled pork from dinner last night.
Make Pulled Pork Taquitos with the leftover pork, or Pulled Pork Quesadillas!
Dinner solved – and it will only take a few minutes to pull together! Plus, you are saving money by using up the leftovers in your fridge instead of cooking something new! See why my Air Fryer saves me money?!
It can save you money too! If you don’t have an Air Fryer, consider buying one for yourself today! I love mine and I know you won’t regret it!
