Usually, I’m just proud that I agreed to have the party in the first place, no need to make it complicated too – right?!
Easy Halloween Party Food
Let’s jump right into those 10 easy Halloween party food ideas. I’ll break this down into 4 categories – appetizers, main dish, dessert, and drinks. Let’s start with easy Halloween party appetizers that kids will love.
Easy Halloween Appetizers
Appetizer #1: Cutie Jack-O-Lanterns
Cutie Jack-O-Lanterns are simple and fun for kids to help make. All you need to do is grab a bag of Cuties or mandarin oranges, or full-size oranges from the store. Take a black sharpie marker and draw a Jack-O-Lantern face on each one. That’s it! The easiest and cutest little pumpkins you’ll ever see! You can see a sample of them here.
Appetizer #2: Franken-Smile Apples
Serve Halloween Franken-Smile Apples to all your guests and they will love them! Halloween Franken-Smile Apples are simply slices of green apples that you’ll slater with peanut butter (or Almond butter, or sunflower butter, or even Hazelnut spread) and add marshmallows to make it look like Frankenstein’s smile.
All you need to do is slice a couple green apples. Take one slice and add peanut butter to it. Then take another slice and add peanut butter to it. Arrange the 2 slices at a 45 degree angle and add a row of mini-marshmallows between them. Serve on a platter. Yummy!
If you don’t have green apples, you can use red, but I do think that green apples make these Franken-Smile Apples look a little bit spookier!
Appetizer #3: Spooky Cheese & Crackers
Hands down, this is the easiest Halloween appetizer to make, and again, it’s a very fun appetizer to make with kids. All you need to do it lay out slices of Cheddar cheese, or Mozarella cheese, or even Cheddar Jack cheese. Using mini-Halloween cookie cutters, cut shapes out of your cheese. Then serve on a platter along with crackers. Soo cute and sooo spooky!
Halloween Main Dish Recipes
Main Dish #1: Hot Dog Mummies
Do you remember how you loved Pigs in a Blanket as a kid? I still remember this being one of my favorite lunches that was served at my school and to this day, I still love them! For Halloween, it’s really easy to modify the Pigs in a Blanket recipe idea and turn them into Hot Dog Mummies.
Again, this is a super fun recipe to get your kids involved in making with you.
All you need is a roll of crescent dough and hot dogs. Roll out the entire roll of dough and slice each piece into strips. Take a hot dog and wrap a strip of dough around the hot dog. Keep adding a few strips of dough to wrap up your hot dog just like a mummy. Leave a little space for eyes. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake.
After they bake and are cooled, draw the eyes on with ketchup or mustard and serve warm with a side of ketchup blood dipping sauce! You can see an example of Hot Dog Mummimes here.
Main Dish #2: Pumpkin Pasta
I love pumpkin pasta – it’s sooo yummy and delicious! It’s also the perfect main dish for a Halloween party. All you need to do is mix a can of pumpkin with some heavy cream, garlic, and parmesan cheese. You can snag the recipe here.
Make up a big dish of this and then allow your guests to get however much they want. Trust me, this recipe is super quick and easy to make which is why it’s one of my favorite easy Halloween party food recipes you must try!
Main Dish #3: Mini Mummy Pizza
In order to make mini mummy pizza, all you need to do is use biscuit dough to make individual mini homemade pizzas and decorate them to look like mummies. You can make the mummy design out of sliced yellow peppers or long thin slices of string cheese, and make sure to add black olive eyes and pepperoni to each one.
All you need to do is buy a roll of biscuit dough for your pizza crusts. Grab your kids and have them help you make the mini pizzas. Give each child a piece of dough. Add pizza sauce and then have each child decorate their pizza how they want to make it look like a mummy. Here is a video showing how to make them.
Such a fun way to make Halloween pizza! Here is the full recipe.

Halloween Dessert Recipes
Dessert #1: Ghost Pretzels
Another great easy Halloween party food dessert are Ghost Pretzels. Not only are they super easy to make, they look adorable, and are definitely a recipe that your kids can help with. All you need to do is melt white chocolate chips with a little butter.
Then add a pretzel and mix until it’s well coated. Scoop out of the chocolate and place on a sheet of parchment paper. Quickly add 2 sugar eyeballs and that’s it! Let them air dry until the chocolate has hardened. Done! And soooo cute! You can see an example here.
Dessert #2: Oreo Spiders
These are soo easy and fun to make and eat! You’ll just need Oreo cookies, M&M’s, shoestring black licorice and some icing. Grab your kids and make these boo-tastic spider cookies together.
They are super easy to make, especially if you use store-bought ingredients. Don’t worry about making your own icing for these cookies, it’s just not worth the time or energy. Buy a small tub of icing at the store and you are good to go. If you can find orange icing- even better!
All you need to do is gently separate the OREO cookies. Cut some of the licorice strings to the desired spider leg length. Add 6 licorice strings to your cookie for legs, pressing the strings into the cookie filling.
Replace the cookie and gently push the cookie together to reform your OREO. Add two small dallops of icing to the top of the cookie and press 2 matching M&M candies into the frosting to represent spider eyes. That’s it! Simple and fun for you and the kids to make together!
