Life Is Very Different Now
Maybe you are in the same boat. Realizing that life is very different than you planned it would be. Is it time for you to update your goals too?
Well, it’s time to share my NEW goals for 2020.
Covid-19 has changed EVERYTHING about life for me.
You too?
Some things are better, some are worse, and lots of life is just plain weird.
Goals Are Hard
You see, I’ve always had a hard time with goals, and now I’m not only having a hard time with goals, I’m having a hard time getting the bare minimum done.
Prior to the pandemic, I was on a good path, finally doing what I wanted to do. All three of my kids were in school full-time, and I was finally getting to work on my blog and business full-time from home during the day.
It was awesome! I was loving it. I was loving having my own time – doing stuff for me, a passion to write, design and have my own business again.

Then BAM! The pandemic hit.
Pandemic Life
All of sudden, just like you, I was crisis-schooling all three of my kids, and trying to find fun things to do with them during all their extra time at home, so we didn’t kill each other.
My husband had taken up working from our bedroom and always needed it to be quiet in the house so he could be on Zoom calls with work.
It seemed like the house was always messy, I was constantly cooking or getting someone a snack, and don’t forget my dog who also needed attention and exercise.
The worst part was trying to find actual food at the grocery store, as well as dog food and toilet paper. I feel like I was always standing in a line to get the necessary items we needed.
My time just disappeared.
Goals Were Not Being Hit
I never got blogging done, or anything else I wanted to get done – my goals were not being met and I was beating myself up for it. Add the emotional stress of a pay cut, and fear of sickness around every corner – I was really struggling to deal with life.
I tried to run every day, just to cope. Thankfully, that was one of my only times to escape the stress of home. I was able to fit in a lot of time to run, but that didn’t take away my fears.
I still have a lot of fear, but I still needed to move forward. Before I do that, make sure you download My Sample Schedule + Planning Worksheet.
Fear Of The Unknown
Right now, my fear stems more from fear of the future than fear of Covid-19. What will our kids have to deal with concerning life in general and especially their education? I fear that there is not much to look forward to right now, because none of us knows what the future holds.
I fear the future, but I also fear failure.
The only failure we have right now is NOT TRYING.
I know we have no idea what the future holds, let alone what the next weeks holds, but I do know that God does know. He also cares. He also sees us. Covid-19 is NOT a surprise to Him. He knows what is around the corner and what we will face tomorrow, next month, and next year.
Choose To Move Forward
Just because life makes no sense and seems so uncertain, that is not an excuse to give up. We need to just keep moving forward. Pursue your dreams – no matter what.
